Prague Castle
When I first climbed up to Prague Castle, I felt as if I were stepping into a living chronicle of Czech history. Not only is it the largest castle complex in the world, but above all a place where centuries‑old stories, the scent of ancient walls, and views that never grow old blend together at every step.
A City Above the City
Prague Castle doesn’t feel like a single building – it’s more like a small town.
St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St. George, Golden Lane… every corner has its own atmosphere.
One moment you’re standing before soaring Gothic towers, a few steps later you find yourself in a quiet Romanesque courtyard, and soon after you’re wandering between colorful little houses that look as if they came straight out of a fairy tale.
A Cathedral That Takes Your Breath Away
When you first stand before St. Vitus Cathedral, it’s hard not to take a step back and simply look.
Its height, details, and stained‑glass windows feel monumental, and inside there’s an atmosphere that naturally makes you lower your voice.
This is where Czech kings were crowned and where many important figures are buried.

Views Worth Every Step
One of the things I enjoy most about the Castle is its location. Whether you look from the South Gardens, from Opyš, or from Hradčanské Square,
Prague unfolds before you like a painting.
The bridges over the Vltava, the towers of the Old Town, Petřín… everything feels calm and harmonious.
A Place Where History Still Lives
Prague Castle is not just a tourist attraction. It’s the seat of the president, a venue for state ceremonies, and at the same time a place where something is always happening – exhibitions, concerts, celebrations.
And yet it manages to keep a special sense of peace, especially early in the morning or in the evening when the crowds disappear.
Why You Should Visit
Prague Castle is a must‑see, but not because “you’re supposed to go.” It’s a place that shows you Prague at its most beautiful, most historic, and most impressive. Whether you love architecture, history, or simply want to see something truly exceptional, the Castle won’t disappoint you.
It is the heart of Prague – and once you walk through it, you’ll understand why.
